Plagiarism Policy
LABIQA: Journal of Informatics and Information Technology is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and strictly prohibits all forms of plagiarism.
All manuscripts submitted to this journal are screened for originality using plagiarism detection software before undergoing the peer review process.
Similarity Threshold
- The maximum acceptable similarity index is ≤ 25%, excluding references, quotations, and commonly used phrases.
- Manuscripts exceeding this threshold may be returned to the authors for revision or rejected, depending on the severity of the similarity.
Types of Plagiarism
The journal considers the following practices as plagiarism or unethical publication behavior:
- Direct plagiarism (copying text without proper citation)
- Self-plagiarism or redundant publication
- Mosaic or patchwork plagiarism
- Data fabrication or falsification
- Improper or incomplete citation of sources
Editorial Action
If plagiarism is detected at any stage of the publication process:
- Before publication: the manuscript will be rejected or returned for revision.
- After publication: the article may be retracted, and a retraction notice will be issued in accordance with publication ethics and COPE guidelines.
In serious cases, the editorial board may notify the authors’ affiliated institutions.
Author Responsibility
Authors are fully responsible for ensuring the originality of their manuscripts and for properly citing all sources used in their work.
By submitting a manuscript to this journal, authors confirm that their work is original and free from plagiarism.
