Author Guidelines
Authors who wish to submit manuscripts to Journal of Legal Studies are requested to comply with the following guidelines to ensure consistency and quality in the publication process.
General Requirements
- Manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration for publication elsewhere.
- Submissions may be written in English or Bahasa Indonesia.
- Manuscripts should be prepared using the journal template provided by the editorial office.
- The manuscript must be submitted through the journal's online submission system.
Types of Manuscripts Accepted
The journal accepts the following types of manuscripts:

Manuscript Structure
The manuscript should generally contain the following components:
For Research Articles:
- Title
- Author Name(s) and Affiliation(s)
- Abstract
- Keywords
- Introduction
- Research Method
- Results and Discussion
- Conclusion
- Acknowledgments (optional)
- References
For Review or Conceptual Articles:
- Title

Manuscript Formatting
Authors should follow the formatting requirements below:
- Paper size: A4 (210 × 297 mm)
- Margins: 2.5 cm on all sides
- Font type: Times New Roman
- Font size: 11 pt
- Line spacing: 1
- Text alignment: Justified
- Page numbering: Bottom center
- Manuscript length: 5,000–10,000 words, including references and appendices.
Title and Author Information
- The title should be concise and informative, preferably not exceeding 20 words.
- Author names should be written without academic titles.
- Include institutional affiliation, city, country, and email address for each author.
- The corresponding author should be clearly indicated.
Abstract and Keywords
- The abstract should contain 150–250 words.
- The abstract should briefly explain the background, objectives, methods, findings, and conclusions.
- Provide 3–5 keywords separated by semicolons.
Citation and References
- The journal uses APA Style 7th Edition for citations and references.
- Authors are encouraged to use reference management software such as:
- Mendeley
- Zotero
- EndNote
- References should primarily consist of scholarly sources published within the last 10 years.
- At least 80% of references should come from journals, books, legislation, court decisions, or reputable academic sources relevant to legal studies.
Tables, Figures, and Illustrations
- Tables and figures must be numbered consecutively.
- Each table and figure should include a title and source information where applicable.
- Images and illustrations must be of high resolution and suitable for publication.
Ethical Considerations
Authors must ensure that:
- The manuscript does not contain plagiarism or duplicate publication.
- All authors have contributed significantly to the research.
- Conflicts of interest are disclosed where applicable.
- Necessary ethical approvals have been obtained for empirical research involving human participants.
Submission and Review Process
All submitted manuscripts will undergo:
- Initial editorial screening.
- Plagiarism checking.
- Double-blind peer review by at least two reviewers.
- Revision process (if required).
- Final editorial decision.
Revision Policy
Authors are expected to submit revised manuscripts within the time frame specified by the editorial board. Failure to submit revisions within the allotted time may result in withdrawal of the manuscript from the publication process.
Copyright and Licensing
By submitting a manuscript, authors agree to the journal's Rights and License Policy, including publication under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).

Before submitting, authors should ensure that:

Manuscripts that do not comply with these guidelines may be returned to the authors for correction before entering the peer-review process.
